Manuka honey☆マヌカ・ハニー

Hi, this is Shire. Thank you very much for coming to my room again!

Last weekend at my regular supermarket, I found a bottle of “pure Manuka Honey” while I was strolling the aisles of some exotic foods. I’ve heard of the honey being a super food, but I was more surprised by the price… yeah, it was expensive (Actually, it was “only” $15 while some of them I looked online cost $60+).

I’ve got the one totally out of my curiosity. I love pure honey, but I have never tried the pure Manuka Honey before.

It looks & textures like a peanut butter which I like a lot when I put on a toasted bread or pancakes. Of course, it tastes exactly as honey as you can imagine. Oh, the name “Manuka” is a flower in New Zealand, and the honey is basically produced by bees who pollinate the flower.

What’s great about the Manuka honey? You can easily find out about the great stuff & effects online. One strong effect I can say here is the honey offers antibacterial and antioxidant properties which even US FDA approved it as an option for wound treatment in 2007. The strong antibacterial effect does support oral health, help prevent stomach ulcers, improve digestive symptoms, and so on.

I usually do not have any bacteria related issue/symptom, but I really enjoy the texture of the honey a lot. Well, I wish it was a little bit cheaper….
