Hi, this is Shire. Thank you very much for coming to my room again♫

My late cat, Kyara used to have another name before she came to my place – Aina.

By the way, the word “Kyara” means a kind of fragrant dark resinous wood, Agarwood in Japanese. Kyara is named only the highest quality of such fragrant woods. In Japanese tea ceremony, Kyara is treated as “the true fragrance.” It might be a little funny to put such (an ostentatious?) name for a cat, but I thought it would totally fit her. She was the highest quality being to me.

Today, I happened to find out the meaning of Aina which is a Hawaiian word, land. In Hawaii, there is the core idea of ancient Hawaiian thought, cosmology and culture called “Aloha ʻĀina” means “Love of the Land.” It also suggests Hawaiian patriotism.

People are supposed to connect and love your land “Aina.”

It is the great name Kyara actually had, and it totally makes sense since she is now with the energy of this planet. He soul is no longer an unique entity which means she is completely back to the land (gone).

I am glad she had a really suitable name♡

このAinaという名前、今日たまたまネットで登場して初めて知ったのですが、ハワイ語で「大地」という意味があります。古代からハワイの人々は自分達が身も心もハワイの大地に根ざし繋がっている、という大地への愛「Aloha ʻĀina(アロハ・アイナ)」というコンセプトがあり、米国による併合の際にはハワイ民族共通の愛国心を表現する言葉としても深く強く広まりました。
