Hi, this is Shire. Thank you very much for coming to my room again ♪

Yesterday, I heard the news that one of my college friends suddenly passed away in August. I’m not quite sure the exact cause of her death, but it should be either a serious illness or an accident. The news came from another good friend of mine who shared my good school time at the graduate school.

She was still too young to die. I think she must be late 30s or early 40s. We used to play some good music together including West African drums which she (American, white female) actually went all the way to Ghana to study the traditional drumming. My teacher really loved her like a daughter… I just received his Email (he sent to all of us the circle of her friends) which was filled with tremendous shock and sorrow towards her.

We tend to think we are still pretty young so that “death” is far away; however, it is not so far like my friend. Well, I usually live in Shamballa, aka the world after death, so that death of someone really familiar to me is not so shocking news anymore.

The time I was really shocked was the news of my college friend in Japan passed away when we were only 22 or 23 years old. I was really busy and having a rough time as a music student in NYC, and the news came from one of our classmates via an air mail (no Email existed at that time). My friend had a bad flu and passed away. She was one of my close friends who even lived in my neighborhood and went to the same kindergarten. I was too shocked to even see everything straight. I remember the subway in NYC looked very weird shape on the day. I had already seen some death prior to her (my grand parents, uncle and aunts), but that was my first experience (in this life) which was encountering the death of my friend.

I wish I knew Shamballa at that time. Death is not the absolute end which the soul still exists and will be reincarnated someday. At the same time, as we all know, “she, the person in the physical world” no longer exist here. Her soul is as close to be eternal, but the physical body with the physical consciousness are gone.

RIP, my friends.

今日のお題、RIPとはRest in Peace=安らかに眠って下さい、という意味です。昨日大学院時代の友人が突然亡くなったという知らせが入りました。同じく院時代に仲良くしていた別の友人からのメッセージでした。
